The course is suitable for those with limited technical abilities wanting to better understand technology and specifically cybersecurity. It is perfect for those who need to provide more oversight or challenge at board level on matters concerning IT and Cybersecurity.
By attending and devoting five hours of your time you will understand why your company might be targeted, what good cybersecurity hygiene is, what good incident preparedness looks like and be able to more effectively oversee and challenge IT and Cybersecurity at board level.

Jonathan has extensive hands-on experience of managing IT Security / Cybersecurity for other well-known financial institutions including UBS, HSBC and Barclays. The course is broken down into four modules:
- Introduction to cybersecurity
- Key attack vectors and the Cyber Kill Chain
- Ransomware and Business Email Compromise
- Board Level Cybersecurity Governance
Course outcomes
At the end of this course you will:
- Have a good understanding of IT, the teams and how they support Cybersecurity
- A knowledge of the different types of cyber attacker Understand the key Cybersecurity terms
- Know about the Cyber-attack vectors
- Know what the Cybersecurity Kill Chain is and how to disrupt it
- Have improved awareness and knowledge of ransomware and business email compromise attacks
- Be aware of the steps in a Cyber Incident Response Plan
- Understand the five key principles that underpin Cybersecurity Governance
Timing and attendee limits
This is course runs from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month. To ensure effective delivery the number of attendees is capped at five.
Delivery
The course is delivered over Microsoft Teams and includes several live demonstrations and talking points to help aid learning. Delivery is relaxed with an opportunity to ask questions as we progress and share insights.
